I have to make a very difficult confession: I don't read enough. Even worse than that, I don't read enough books about education. When a book catches my attention, it's usually something like Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell or Trade-Off by Kevin Maney. These books aren't about education in a direct sense, but they're all about education when you draw the comparisons. Another book that is one that I've never heard mentioned in any of the book clubs that I never attend (nor belong to for that matter... hmmm, maybe there's the problem. Oh well).

“Don't be afraid to talk, be afraid of staying quiet.”
― Eugene Lebid As a student, I was always the one getting in trouble. Nothing major, nothing invasive or mind boggling, but trouble nonetheless. Quite frankly, I thought it was ridiculous that the whole class talks and I'm the only one getting pointed out and punished. Maybe this was the puberty-driven mindset of mine and not so much of the truth, but every teacher was out to catch me talking or being off task. |
