A little while ago, I stumbled onto a video from Malcolm Gladwell about relativity. It wasn't Einstein, but it was genius. In it, he was discussing how we have a perception of ourselves based on the group we are surrounded by. In a crowd of musicians, I am the worst at playing an instrument. In a daycare, I am the best (I hope) baseball player in the room. This got me thinking. We compare ourselves to the people in our cohort, no matter who the cohort is.

As I mentioned earlier, there was a plan in place to have a meeting with a small group of high school students about what we could be doing better as an educational system. It was meant to be a group of four, but one of my most important panel members, a junior (I'll get to him later), didn't show to the meeting. Even still, we had a good conversation with three of the students.
