Starting in early November, I took a social detox: no Twitter, no Facebook, no blogs, no news. I found that, as November 8th came closer, all I was doing was looking to see the reactions of my friends and people I follow on social issues. I wasn't objectively reading the news, then going out to help make the world a better place. Instead, I went straight to Twitter, Facebook, and blogs to feed off of the negativity and hate (which has been happening on all sides of the spectrum).
So... I logged off.
It was great, but I know that I need to continue to improve and reflect as an educator. With the calendar turning over, I realized that it was time for me to get over it, get back into those platforms, and re-engage. The blog is back up and running, the Twitter has been restored, and the desire to get better is back.
This year, I'm hoping to blog more about the work I do as an instructional coach, the lessons I create for 3D printing, reflections from my books, and ways to challenge those of you who take the time to drop by.
With that said, why do you read my blog? I'm curious and would love a comment. What brings you here? What could I do better? I'm certain that I can do better, but uncertain as to how.
